Reels can create video manually or automatically when an article is published. Automation should begin with a narrow allowlist of predictable content, not the entire newsroom.

Introduce automation gradually

Start with manual creation and record which article types consistently produce acceptable results. Define exclusions for sensitive reporting, corrections, live coverage and formats that rely on material the video process cannot interpret safely.

When automation is enabled, assign an owner for daily review. A failed job must not block WordPress publication, and a completed job must not bypass the newsroom’s distribution rules.

Destinations

The WordPress bridge can expose configured choices for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn. Actual availability depends on the publisher’s active integrations, accounts and platform policies. Confirm each destination during onboarding and after credential or policy changes.

Use platform-specific captions and links where required. Keep a clear path back to the full article, especially where the short video omits context that matters to the reporting.
