Comment Agent 0.1.4 supports comment workflows. It should strengthen a publisher’s moderation policy, not replace the human decisions that policy requires.

Set the policy first

Define what participation is welcome, what must be removed, what needs escalation and who can make those calls. Make rules easy for readers to find. Include a route for urgent concerns, legal complaints and appeals where your policy provides one.

Use signals as signals

Automated indicators can help moderators prioritise queues, especially during a fast-moving story. They do not establish intent, truth or context on their own. A trained person should review consequential actions and document decisions that need to be explained later.

Monitor the whole conversation

Review comments around corrections, sensitive reporting and articles that draw unusual attention. Update a thread when a published story changes materially. The goal is a readable, fair discussion that does not distract from the reporting.
