Add-ons extend an Aeon News WordPress installation for specific editorial or audience needs. Enable a tool because it supports a defined workflow, not because every capability should appear in the editor.

Introduce one workflow at a time

Name an editor responsible for each enabled add-on. Decide which story types may use it, what review is required, and how readers can report a problem. Train the team with real, low-risk examples before changing a large section of the site.

Keep optional tools optional

An add-on should not make a basic article harder to publish. Review its editorial value, accessibility and maintenance needs after launch. If a tool changes the reader experience, include it in routine front-page and mobile checks.
